For the love of the Braves.. and Art.

I started my "internship" program as a way for me to get to know other photographers around Atlanta.  I receive a lot of facebook messages and emails from other photographers with questions on how I run my business.  While I'd love to help everyone, it's often hard to explain things in an email, and a whole lot less personal.  So, I started inviting photographers I liked to help me out for a week at a time.

What I've learned from the experience is there are a LOT of EXTREMELY talented men and women in Atlanta who are lacking a whole lot of confidence.  I've been continually humbled by the images they have delivered to me.  Many of which were better than the shots I got during the shoot.

This left me reevaluating my own work.  Sometimes we as photographers might get used to shooting too much of the same old thing.  We've been to so many weddings and shot so many engagement sessions that they all start to blur together until they appear as one big ball of yarn we must slowly unwind during editing.  We forget to make art.  And isn't Art the reason we starting doing this in the first place?

Joe O' Daniels of O Studios in Atlanta reminded me of my passion for making art.  Looking through his shots from our session at Turner Field left me speechless.  Every shot... was art.

I think Joe has an amazing future in photography ahead of him.  He came to me wanting to learn how I'm "making" it in the business, but I think I learned more from him than he did from me.  Thank you so much for your hard work and for your beautiful images that my clients will cherish for the rest of their lives.  You brought Art back into my photography.  I can't wait to see where you go from here.
